Fire Department

Recently our administrative office received a phone call from a concerned citizen in reference to a donation solicitation they had received using the Lancaster Fire Department’s name. The company’s name is Community Outreach, and they are selling ad space for refrigerator magnets. The Lancaster Fire Department does not support them, and we recommend that you do not participate. As always, if you receive a donation request, or have any other questions, please feel free to contact our administrative offices Monday-Friday between 8 am and 4 pm at 740-687-6640.

Lt. John Craiglow, FFP Tyson Nye, and FF Allen Ankron went above and beyond on a service call at 1867 Zimmer St. after the downpour in the early morning hours of March 1, 2017. The backwater valve at this address failed causing flooding of storm and sewer water resulting in substantial damage. The resident called the Fire Department to see if we could help. Lt. Craiglow, FFP Nye, and FF Ankrom assisted in transporting as many of the resident's items as possible upstairs out of the flooding area. They also tried to help plumbers fix the broken valve.
We would like to thank and recognize John, Tyson, and Allen for going above and beyond with their customer service in salvaging many irreplaceable photos and keepsakes for this resident. This is a fine example of our mission statement and what the Lancaster Fire Department is about.
